Schwimmsportverein Esslingen

Esslingen is a city in the southwest of Germany with about 90 000 inhabitants.  Its largest sports club is the Sport Swimming Club Esslingen with 3 200 members. It was founded in 1908. We are at home on an island in the Neckar river with an outdoor pool area of almost 1.6 hectares, including an own clubhouse, 50 meter sports pool, children’s and paddling pools as well as numerous green areas for our members.

The sport has been in the foreground since the founding of our swimming “sport” club! SSV Esslingen has been one of the best  water polo teams in Germany for many years and has played in the 1st Bundesliga from the start with only a few interruptions. A lot is being done to ensure that this remains the case in the future.

The youth work of the SSV Esslingen is exemplary in the German Swimming Association and has already received several awards. Experienced coaches and trainers look after the boys and girls in the U12, U14, U16 and U18 . And with lasting success, as the numerous successes at Württemberg, southern German and German championships prove. Our U12 mixed team is the current vize southern German champion and the U16 male team is the current southern German champion. Our females are also very successful:  our U17 team is vize German champion and our U14 team is the current German champion!

The  three active men’s and one women’s water polo teams offer the prospect of national top-class sport in the highest German league to local games in the district league middle Neckar and the A-class.

And then, of course, the “Mass Sports” department offers something for everyone who loves “wet” or wants to get used to it: swimming courses from infancy to adult courses, aqua fitness for beginners and advanced swimmers, but also lots of fun and encounters outside of the water the offer of our association.

2022 is a premiere for the SSVE  in the Tomo Tournament and we are really looking forward to competing on an international level in two categories: under-15 girls and under-12 mixed.
